Tomorrow Is a Big Day at AbbeyK

Quick update on the fascinating story of my decorating my own condo:
After months and months of agonizing over decisions, my window treatments install tomorrow. I hope I like them.

On the way back from NYC this weekend, I stopped in Stamford and got a steal -- a near set of chairs (not a matched set but 8 in the same style). The chairs are perfect.

What's next: wait for a TV stand to arrive, finalize the rug in the dining room and wait for my new desk and rug in the study. This is serious progress, and I am almost done. Need another night stand and to repair a China hutch and some smalls here and there. A mirror and a piece of art for 2 different walls. Once mid-May rolls around, it's all about the garden, so chip-chop, time to wrap this up.

Will take some pictures and post them. I hope I can sleep tonight, so much excitement. Just kidding. I am not that excited.

 

OMG Email Scam Targeting Designers!!!

Just got this email. These scam artists will think of all kinds of things.

What embassy allows you to fly with out a passport? NONE. I once lost my passport and had to wait to get a new one issued. This was long before 9-11. Can't imagine what happens now.

Apologies for having to reach out to you like this, but I made a quick trip to London,United Kingdom and had my bag stolen from me with my passport and credit cards in it. The embassy is willing to help by authorizing me to fly without my passport, I just have to pay for a ticket and settle Hotel bills. Sorry for Being Out of Touch!

It's been a month since I last posted-- gasp. Got super busy with deadlines and then a two week, unplanned vacation, an opportunity I simply couldn't pass up.

I'll be back in the groove soon with updates, ideas, and pictures of my on-going decorating project of my own condo. The fire place is done and painted, some furniture is soon to arrive, and window treatments install week of the 21st.
