What do you do when you want to seat 12 people at your dining room table 2 or 3 times a year? Unless you have a very, very large dining room – think near banquet-sized – a table for twelve won't fit in most homes.
Our parents were experts at squeezing space out of smaller homes compared to today's standards. Think creatively! Remember the famous "Kids Table?" What a great way to grab space! Here are some more tips to avoid making an expensive mistake.
- Do buy a table that fits the space.
- Don't buy a table for a few times out of the year.
- Set the room up for your regular number of guests and for those special times, add a card table on the end. A beautiful table cloth, a great meal, and a wonderful time together is all anyone will remember.
